The Speaker Andreas Norlén met Ulf Kristersson (Moderate Party) today in order to receive a progress report on the task of exploring the possibilities of forming a government.
"Ulf Kristersson has given me an account today of the discussions he has had in connection with his task of exploring the possibilities of forming a government. He has given me his view of the situation and has told me that he intends to continue his discussions throughout the assigned period", says the Speaker Andreas Norlén after the meeting.
When the Speaker gave Ulf Kristersson the task of exploring the possibilities of forming a government, it was also established that a progress report was to be presented by 9 October, and a final report by 16 October at the latest.
Further information about the final report on the task will be issued before 16 October.
On Thursday 27 September, the Speaker started the assignment of preparing a proposal for a new Prime Minister for the Riksdag to take a stand on. The assignment includes interview rounds with representatives of all the parties in the Riksdag and deliberations with the Deputy Speakers.
The Speaker met the party representatives on 27 September and 2 October, and held deliberations with the presiding officers of the Riksdag on 28 September and 2 October. He then announced that he had given the task of exploring the possibilities of forming a government to Ulf Kristersson (Moderate Party) and he informed King Carl XVI Gustaf of his interview assignment. The Speaker has continued to keep the Head of State and the Deputy Speakers informed.
