Journalists, photographers, technicians and staff servicing the studios used by media companies must have media accreditation from the Riksdag to be able to to work on their own in the Riksdag. If you have tasks of a journalistic nature for a media company corresponding to 50% employment or more, you can apply to the Riksdag Administration for accreditation. You can also be granted accreditation if you work on a freelance basis, provided your tasks are primarily of a journalistic nature. Your accreditation is valid for a maximum of two years. In the case of assignments for media companies for limited periods, accreditation is valid as long as the assignment lasts. Accreditation can also be issued for just one day. All reporters, photographers and technicians must have a special accreditation to be able to work in the Riksdag. Application form Apply for accreditation (In Swedish) If your application is granted, you will receive a decision and further information by e-mail. The decision includes an instruction for you to book an appointment to have your photo taken and collect your media pass at the Riksdag. Incoming applications are dealt with promptly. Extending your accreditation If your accreditation has expired, you can apply to extend it via the form above. Application for accreditation for one day If you need to work in the Riksdag buildings on isolated occasions, you can apply for accreditation which is valid for one day. The same conditions must be met to be granted accreditation for one day as for longer periods. Revocation of accreditation If you are granted accreditation, you are obliged to notify the Riksdag Administration if your employment or your assignment is changed. Accreditation can be revoked if it can be assumed that the circumstances that provided the basis for the media accreditation no longer exist, the person who was granted the media accreditation has submitted incorrect or misleading information in connection with his or her application, the person who was granted media accreditation has not complied with current regulations or there are exceptional grounds for revocation. The decision can be appealed If your application for accreditation is rejected or if your accreditation is withdrawn, you can lodge an appeal against the decision with the Riksdag Appeals Board. You will receive more information together with the decision. Returning an invalid press pass Once the validity of your accreditation has expired, your media pass must always be returned to the Riksdag Administration. This also applies if you are applying for accreditation for a new period. Access Accreditation provides right of entry during regular working hours (8.00-16.30) and other times in connection with meetings of the Chamber or of the Riksdag committees, press conferences and party meetings. Accreditation provides right of entry to premises for the media and other premises for use by Riksdag members, but not to offices, the Speaker's corridor and the Secretariat of the Committee on the Constitution, the Chamber itself, the Chambers in the East Wing of the Riksdag, the assembly rooms of the Riksdag committees and the members’ lounge. Nor does it provide right of entry to the Riksdag pre-school facility or premises for use by the Riksdag Administration. When visiting the Riksdag, your pass must be visible at all times. The party secretariats It is up to the party secretariats to decide what rules apply regarding the right of entry for those holding media accreditation to party secretariat premises.
