Continued possibility for companies and organisations to hold annual general meetings remotely in 2021

2 December 2020 klockan 16.20

The Riksdag voted in favour of the Government's proposal to extend the provisional law that makes it possible for companies and organisations to hold their annual general meetings without physical participation.

The provisions mean that an annual general meeting can either be held online in combination with postal voting, or by allowing the shareholders and members to participate solely by means of a postal vote.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic makes it impossible to predict when annual meetings can be held in the normal way again, the period for which the provisional act will apply will be extended to 31 December 2021.
