The Riksdag has voted in favour of the Government's proposal to postpone the introduction of the national pharmaceuticals list and the reform of general practice for doctors. The reason is the spread of the new coronavirus that causes Covid-19.

The decision means that the National Pharmaceuticals List Act will apply from 1 May 2021. However, the parts of the Act that concern the requirement for membership for health and medical care actors and the obligation to provide information will apply from 1 May 2023. The rules concerning the introduction of general practice for doctors will apply from 1 July 2021. Certain consequential amendments to other laws will also be carried out.
