The Riksdag voted in favour of the Government's proposal to repeal the COVID-19 Act and Act on temporary communicable disease control measures at venues serving food and drink on 31 March 2022.

The Riksdag also voted in favour of the Government's proposal that the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) should no longer be classified as a danger to society or a threat to public health.

The amendments will come into force on 1 April 2022.

The Riksdag settled the matter even though it had been presented to the Chamber less than the normal two working days before the day it was considered.
