The Riksdag's work procedures this autumn

The Speaker and the party group leaders have reached a new agreement this week regarding the Riksdag's work procedures during the autumn. The party group leaders have also decided not to extend the agreement that just 55 members of the Riksdag should be present at votes in the Chamber. After the opening of the Riksdag session, a return to normal procedures for the work of the Riksdag will commence.

Possible to return and collect requested books at the Riksdag Library

From Monday 1 February, the Riksdag Library will be open for the return and collection of requested books on weekdays. If you just wish to return borrowed books, a book return box will be available at the entrance on weekdays. For current information on opening hours and visiting rules, please visit the Riksdag Library website.

The Riksdag Library is closed until further notice

The Riksdag Library in the Old Town in Stockholm is to remain closed to visitors until further notice as a result of the corona pandemic. It is not possible to borrow, reserve, order or return books as long as the library remains closed. Current loans will be extended automatically. Usually, the Riksdag Library is open to everyone.

The Committee on the Constitution examines the Government's handling of the corona crisis

The Committee on the Constitution has agreed that the focus of its examination of the Government's handling of the corona crisis will be on how government power has been exercised from a broader, constitutional, perspective.

The Committee on the Constitution resumes its examination of the Government

The Committee on the Constitution has decided today that it will resume its examination of the Government this autumn. A decision concerning hearings will be taken after the opening of the Riksdag session on 8 September.

The Committee on the Constitution postpones its examination of the Government

The Committee on the Constitution has agreed to table its examination of the Government until further notice. The Committee will therefore not be holding any hearings as part of its examination during the spring.

Party group leaders change work procedures in the Chamber on account of the coronavirus

The group leaders of the parties represented in the Riksdag have agreed to change work procedures so that just 55 members of the Riksdag will participate in votes in the Chamber.

Guided tours, events and meetings in the Riksdag cancelled until further notice

The Riksdag is currently taking several measures on account of the coronavirus. Until further notice the Riksdag Administration is cancelling guided tours, events, certain meetings, study visits and visits to the Democracy Workshop.

Continued Swedish participation in military operations in Iraq

Sweden will continue to participate in the current military training efforts in Iraq in 2019.

Operations in Afghanistan and Iraq to be extended
