Thursday 25 February 2021 Since the COVID-19 pandemic is still going on, tax and charge exemption for the benefits of free parking and gifts to employees should be reinstated. This is the opinion of the Riksdag, which calls on the Government to act by way of an announcement.

Thursday 25 February 2021 The Riksdag rejected approx. 120 proposals in motions from the general private members' motions period 2020. The main reason for this is that work is already in progress in this area.

Thursday 25 February 2021 The Riksdag voted in favour of the Government's proposal on further measures in an additional amending budget for 2021 in order to alleviate the effects of the spread of the coronavirus. As a result, central government expenditure will increase by SEK 12.4 billion in 2021.

Wednesday 10 February 2021 Beslut An exploration permit under the Minerals Act grants the permit holder the exclusive right to map the characteristics of bedrock. The Riksdag voted in favour of the Government's proposal on amendments to the Minerals Act. The purpose for this is to make it easier for prospecting companies who risk being badly hit by the effects of the corona pandemic.

Wednesday 3 February 2021 The Riksdag voted in favour of the Government's proposal on a further additional amending budget for 2021 on account of the continued spread of COVID-19. Central government expenditure for 2021 will thus increase by SEK 18.6 billion, mainly due to increased economic assistance to companies.

Wednesday 3 February 2021 The Government has proposed further measures in response to the continued spread of the coronavirus. The Riksdag voted in favour of the proposal which includes new and extended support to companies and more money for testing and vaccinations.

Wednesday 27 January 2021 On account of the corona pandemic, during 2020 the Riksdag decided on a number of forms of crisis support in order to save jobs and to enable healthy companies to make it through the pandemic. Now, the Riksdag believes that this crisis support needs to be adjusted to enable it to reach its intended recipients to a greater extent. The Riksdag therefore called on the Government by way of two announcements to act as follows.

Wednesday 20 January 2021 In order to secure Sweden's transport needs during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, it will be possible to extend the period of validity of drivers' certificates of professional competence by six months. The reason is that the pandemic makes it difficult to implement the further training that the drivers need to complete at regular intervals in order to renew their certificates. The Riksdag voted in favour of the Government's proposal.

Friday 8 January 2021 The Riksdag voted in favour of the Government's proposal to introduce a temporary law and certain legislative amendments to enable more measures to be taken to counteract congestion and thus prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Thursday 17 December 2020 A temporary law that makes it possible to implement more accurate measures is required in order to contain the spread of COVID-19. This is the opinion of the Riksdag, which urges the Government by way of an announcement to promptly get back to the Riksdag with a proposal for a temporary law. 

Wednesday 16 December 2020 Beslut The Riksdag voted in favour of the Government's proposal on an amendment to the Act on Support in the Event of Short-time Work which will mean that employers who are receiving support for providing short-time work and who are arranging competency measures will have the opportunity to receive compensation for such measures.

Wednesday 16 December 2020 Beslut The Riksdag voted in favour of the Government's proposal on amendments to the Unemployment Insurance Act. One of the effects of this will be that temporary legislative amendments on account of COVID-19 are to be extended until 1 January 2023.

Wednesday 16 December 2020 The Riksdag has decided on an amendment to the Student Aid Act which will mean that in the event of extraordinary events in peace time the Government can decide that a higher amount than normal may be provided in the form of an extra loan to those who have worked previously.

Wednesday 9 December 2020 The Riksdag voted in favour of the Government's proposal to extend the period of validity of the act on temporary communicable disease control measures at venues serving food and drink.

Wednesday 9 December 2020 The Riksdag voted in favour of the Government's proposal that the Act on the register of national vaccination programmes should also include vaccinations against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19). According to the proposal, the care provider responsible for the COVID-19 vaccination shall also provide information about the dose number of the vaccination to the register.

Wednesday 2 December 2020 The Riksdag voted in favour of the Government's proposal to extend the provisional law that makes it possible for companies and organisations to hold their annual general meetings without physical participation.

Monday 30 November 2020 The Committee on the Constitution has completed its annual scrutiny of the Government. In total, the Committee on the Constitution has examined 30 reports from members of the Riksdag as well as a number of other questions that the Committee has taken up on its own initiative. The Committee has identified deficiencies in 12 of the examined matters.

Wednesday 25 November 2020 The Riksdag voted in favour of amendments to the central government budget. The amendments will mean that central government expenditure will increase by SEK 31 billion this year.
