Swedish participation in the mission in Iraq to be extended

Sweden will continue to participate in the current military training mission in Iraq in 2020. The Swedish forces are to consist of 70 people.

Sweden’s participation in the UN mission in Mali to continue

Sweden is to continue to participate in the existing UN mission in Mali. According to the proposal, Sweden will participate with an armed force consisting of a maxim of 470 persons until 31 December 2020. The Riksdag voted in favour of the Government's proposal.

Swedish participation in the mission in Afghanistan to be extended

Sweden's participation in NATO's training and advice mission, RSM, in Afghanistan is to be extended until 31 December 2020. The Swedish force on location in Afghanistan will consist of a maximum of 50 persons. The Riksdag voted in favour of the Government's proposal.

The Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority will be able to take action against foreign credit institutions

The Government has proposed that the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority should have the right to take action against foreign credit institutions in the European Economic Area (EEA) operating from a branch in Sweden in cases of violation of the Anti-Money Laundering Act. The Riksdag voted in favour of the Government's proposal.

Yes to the expenditure limits and revenues in the Budget Bill

The Riksdag has voted in favour of the proposed expenditure limits and revenue estimates in the Government's Budget Bill for 2020. The Riksdag has also approved the legislative proposals concerning changes to tax regulations in the Budget Bill and has expressed its support for the central government expenditure ceiling.

The Riksdag voted in favour of the Government's proposal that children of members of third country foreign missions will be entitled to free education in a pre-school class.

Debate between party leaders on EU policy at the Riksdag

On Wednesday 13 November at 9 a.m., there will be a debate between party leaders on EU policy in the Chamber of the Riksdag. The debate will open with a presentation by the Prime Minister of the Government's priorities in its work with EU affairs. This is the first time that such a debate will be held.

Higher age limits in the pensions system and a benchmark age for pensions

The Riksdag voted in favour of the Government's proposal to raise the age limit at which income-related old-age pensions can be drawn from 61 to 62, and to make certain adjustments to the rise in age limits to include the right to remain in employment until 68 years of age as of 2020.
