Additional amending budget: Compensation to high-risk groups and other measures

The Riksdag has voted in favour of the Government's proposal on a ninth amending budget in response to the coronavirus outbreak which includes compensation to high-risk groups. The Riksdag also called on the Government by way of an announcement to take action regarding the future of Arlanda Airport.

Amended proposal on the EU’s own resources goes beyond what is necessary

The European Commission has presented an amended proposal concerning the system for the EU's own resources. One aspect of the proposal is that the ceiling for the EU's own resources is to be raised. The Riksdag considers that the proposal is in conflict with the principle of subsidiarity, according to which decisions are to be taken as efficiently and as close to the citizens as possible. The Riksdag is sending its views to the EU's decision-making institutions in the form of a reasoned opinion.

New act regarding temporary communicable disease control measures at venues serving food and drink

The Riksdag voted in favour of the Government's proposal regarding a new act on temporary communicable disease control measures at venues serving food and drink. The act establishes that anyone running a venue that serves food and drink, such as a restaurant, bar or café, is responsible for taking certain measures to prevent the spread of the virus responsible for COVID-19.

Additional amending budget: Yes to reorientation support for companies with reduced turnover

The Government has submitted a proposal with further measures to mitigate the effect on society of the novel coronavirus which is responsible for causing COVID-19. Financial support - reorientation support - is being introduced for companies with reduced turnover owing to the spread of the virus. The Riksdag voted in favour of the Government's proposals.

The Government should promptly ensure possibility to examine foreign direct investments

As a result of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and the serious economic situation, Swedish companies in need of capital risk being undervalued. This could lead to increased international interest in direct investments in Swedish companies that are worth protecting. The Riksdag therefore urged the Government by way of an announcement, to promptly present a proposal for measures to make the examination of such investments possible.

Activities in the EU in 2019

The Riksdag has considered the annual government communication on work in the European Union (EU). The communication covers all of the EU's activities during 2019. The Riksdag also called on the Government by way of an announcement to seek, together with other EU member states, to bring about EU legislation imposing sanctions for human rights.

Yes to Swedish participation in military operation in Mali

The Riksdag voted in favour of the Government's proposal that Sweden contribute with an armed force in a multinational military operation in Mali.

Possibility for members to participate remotely in meetings of the parliamentary committees and the Committee on EU Affairs

The Riksdag or the Speaker may decide to grant permission for remote participation in committee meetings if there are exceptional grounds. If the Riksdag or the Speaker have taken such a decision, a committee may allow a member or deputy member to participate remotely in a meeting.

Additional amending budget: Further measures in response to the coronavirus

In order to mitigate the negative economic effects of the new coronavirus and create opportunities for education and continuing professional development, the Government has presented several proposals for further measures. Among other things, more money from the central government budget for 2020 will be earmarked for compensation for high costs for sick pay, sickness benefits, a contribution to keep public transport running and a contribution for public health and medical care. The Riksdag voted in favour of the Government's proposals.

Municipalities should be entitled to refuse home care services to temporary residents

A municipality should have the right to refuse home care services to people who are on a short stay in the municipality. This is the opinion of the Riksdag which, by way of an announcement, calls on the Government to promptly prepare a legislative proposal to this effect. The purpose is to reduce the burden on the municipalities during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Additional amending budget: More extensive short-term lay-offs and a number of new measures

The Government has proposed further measures to cushion the impact of the negative effects of the spread of the new coronavirus on society. The proposals include adaptations of the support initiatives that have already been introduced, as well as more effective checks to combat fraudulent use of the initiatives.

Yes to increased protection for honour-related crime

Penalties are to be tightened for honour-related crime. Crimes for which the motive has been to preserve or re-establish honour are to be seen as an aggravating circumstance when assessing culpability. The Riksdag voted in favour of the Government's proposal.

Time limits for personal payment liability in limited companies should be reviewed

The current spread of the new coronavirus has resulted in both small and large companies increasingly having liquidity problems. The Riksdag has therefore called on the Government by way of an announcement to carry out a review with a temporary focus on the time limits in the Swedish Companies Act that apply for personal payment liability in the event of lack of capital.

National pharmaceuticals list and general practice for doctors to be postponed

The Riksdag has voted in favour of the Government's proposal to postpone the introduction of the national pharmaceuticals list and the reform of general practice for doctors. The reason is the spread of the new coronavirus that causes Covid-19.

Further measures to make it easier for companies and organisations to hold annual general meetings

The Government has proposed the introduction of a temporary possibility for limited companies and cooperative societies to hold their annual general meetings completely without physical participation. The purpose is to combat the spread of the coronavirus. 

Amended transitional provisions for medical technology products

Transitional provisions are to be amended pending the entry into force of new EU rules within the area of medical technology. The Government's proposal means that transitional provisions pertaining to such things as the Act concerning Medical Technology Products will be amended so that older provisions will continue to apply until 25 May 2021.

The ceiling for deferment of tax on profit resulting for the sale of private housing to be raised

A person selling a private house or flat at a profit and buying a new house of flat can be granted deferment of taxation on capital gains. The Riksdag has now decided that the ceiling for the maximum amount of such a deferment is to be raised.

Approval of temporary changes to press subsidies

Temporary changes to press subsidies have been proposed to reduce economic consequences for the media in connection with the outbreak of the coronavirus. The Riksdag voted in favour of the Government's proposal.

The Government should review rules regarding transfer of custody and adoption of children in foster homes

The Riksdag is calling upon the Government, by way of an announcement, to take the initiative to review the rules regarding transfer of custody and adoption of children in foster homes. The Riksdag is also directing an announcement to the Government urging that it get back to the Riksdag with a proposal for more stringent legislation against foreign polygamous marriages.

Winter fuel permitted temporarily until 31 May

The spread of the new coronavirus has led to reduced sales of winter fuel, and this has led to a shortage of space in fuel depots. The Government would like to postpone the transition to summer fuel so that the fuel suppliers have more time to replace their stocks of winter fuel with summer fuel. The Riksdag voted in favour of the Government's proposal.
