One hundred years ago in September, women were able to vote for the very first time in parliamentary elections on the same terms as men. The 1921 elections were the first elections with universal and equal suffrage. This is being commemorated at the Riksdag with a democracy centenary, which is one of the themes of the opening of the Riksdag session this year. The photo shows Lawyer Eva Andén and her colleagues on their way to vote at the polling station in the 1921 parliamentary elections.
